location, they are saying the 4-6 week time starts from that point. Even if they find it, and actually get it to a State Dept. USPS!! Why are we paying them then? Given my passport's alleged status as "under review" for the last week, it's probably lost. They did disclose that after they review it in DC, they actually use USPS to ship the passports to Philadelphia for processing. They can't even identify where it actually is.
It has been 9 days and my passport is still listed as under review. The way the process is supposed to work is one day to DC (you pay FedEx for this), one day review, and then one day to State Dept. They advertise that the process takes 4-6 weeks. Used the expedited service and paid $179 to do so. Never taken time to do a review before but I am compelled to do this one as a public service.
I would give this place Zero stars if I could. It is not a service worth paying for." Use the USPS and follow directions on the passport website. To quote the lovely representative I spoke with from the State Department,"I am so sorry. I will most likely not make my planned travel and look to lose A LOT of money. I will receive my passport 4-6 weeks from January 22. Instead it appears to have gone to a Rush My Passport Office in Washington, DC and just arrived to the State Department on January 22. Do not know why it did not go directly to processing facility in Philadelphia. Sent my passport January 5 using Rush My Passport. USPS goes directly to Philadelphia as you know because your company sent my application to Philadelphia using USPS TWO WEEKS AFTER I sent it via FedEx to you. There is no reason to send paperwork through RushMyPassport. I know I will get my passport 4-6 weeks after the State Department gets it which will be 2.5 weeks after YOUR OFFICE received it.
